Beijing-October 11th, 2017, Medical Valley GmbH allied with Beijing YG Venture Capital Management & Consulting Co., Ltd. announced that they and China Center for Urban Development (CCUD) have entered into a strategic partnership framework, under which all the parties will establish comprehensive cooperation between China and EU in fields of healthcare service, technologies and education aiming to build a global medical industry ecological system.
Prof. Dr. Erich R. Reinhardt, the chair of Medical Valley GmbH and the former CEO of the Siemens Healthcare, as well as Mr. Xu Lin, the director of CCUD of NDRC, witnessed the exchange of MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MoU) for STRATEGIC COOPERATION in Beijing. The goal of the partnership is to establish flagship regions for EU-China Partnership on Urbanization focusing on healthcare industry, as well as to accelerate EU-China healthcare industry cooperation, implementing and improving healthcare industry in the process of urbanization in China and European Union countries.
All parties agreed on the ceremony that the signing of this MoU will improve international cooperation, exchange of experiences and knowledge sharing of new type of urbanization between China and Germany.
Following the “Joint Declaration on EU-China Partnership on Urbanization” signed by China and EU leaders in May 2012, as well as the “Joint Program of Action on Cooperation: Shaping Innovation Together” published by China and Germany in 2014, the projects of cooperation between the parties will be focused on:
• creating demonstration model for EU-China urbanization healthcare project. High-qualified area in Shenzhen will be designated as initial region for the projects.
• raising healthcare industry development funds to support local innovation and international technology and knowledge transfer.
• establishing China Innovation Center with world’s leading enterprises in Germany to support EU-China international innovation ecosystem and benefit from German research results. “The Center” will foster innovation and technology transfer between Chinese and German companies and research institutions.
Meanwhile, all parties will establish infrastructure for publicity, communications and interactions, such as organizing EU-China Forum for Urbanization and Healthcare Cooperation, and other series conference to promote EU- China cooperation of governments, research institutes and enterprises.
